Introduction

We are the society of class 1 officers and other professionals from different business avenues.

Greenwoods Government Officers Welfare Society (regd.) is a Welfare Society formed by a group highly motivated eco-friendly set of friends who are committed to the concern of the habitat. It was registered under the Societies Registration Act 1860 at New Delhi in 1997. It has an All India Character, with its membership drawn from senior officers of various class-1, All India Services & Central Services. The Society registered of office in New Delhi

The Society's first venture was to set up an extremely aesthetic environ in Greater Noida City, U.P. in the midst of verdant landscape with backdrop of a world class Golf Course. The Society has set up its first scheme at Plot No. 10, Sector I, Greater Noida City, Distt. - Gautam Budh Nagar,U.P. It has also managed to provide 236 plots to its members in the Phase-I Scheme, heralding an effort for meaning five community living.

The Society's has also contributed significantly to espouse socially relevant issues concerning environmental protection, Citizen's charter, strengthening the rule of law in governance. It is continuously working for involving its members to interact on major economic issues of the times. It also enables the members volume opportunities for skill upgradation and career enhancement and post retirement occupational opportunities. The Society is also in the process of setting up a foundation for this purpose. Active members have been contributing valuable papers on relevant subjects to elicit the response of Civil Society.

In 2000-2001, it has also been allotted further land for its Phase-II Scheme for which new members have also been admitted. The Greenwoods family welcomes you amidst its fairly strong network, and looks forward to a very meaningful and productive association with you. The Memorandum of Association, rules and regulations and the bye-laws of the Society are enclosed.

History

The Greenwoods Government Officers Welfare Society was founded in 1997 by a group of highly motivated civil servants. It was officially registered under the Societies Registration Act of 1860, with the goal of creating an eco-friendly residential community in Greater Noida. Since its inception, the society has successfully developed Phase I, which includes 236 plots, and was later allotted additional land for Phase II.

Over the years, Greenwoods Society has focused on environmental protection, community welfare, and enhancing the quality of life for its members. It has also played a role in addressing key social issues, such as environmental sustainability and governance. One significant milestone includes its collaboration with the Greater Noida Authority for land development and community planning.

Structure and Governance

Greenwoods Society is governed by a Managing Committee that oversees all administrative and operational aspects of the society. The Managing Committee includes key members such as the President, Vice President, Secretary, and Treasurer, who are elected at the Annual General Meeting (AGM). The committee is responsible for executing policies, managing finances, and ensuring that the society’s infrastructure and amenities are well maintained.

The General Body, which comprises all registered members, plays a key role in decision-making. Important decisions, such as amendments to rules and regulations, are discussed and voted upon during AGMs or Extraordinary General Meetings. Subcommittees are also formed for specific tasks such as finance, security, and infrastructure management.
